San Diego Pest Removal Tip:

Different Methods of Termite Control
Before you even look for the best termite control method, it would be essential to understand the two types of treatment. Pre-construction type of treatment aims to protect the property. This will be applied during the construction phase of the building or shortly after the construction has concluded. On the other hand, post-construction treatment will be used on the more established structures. This is a form of remedial treatment that will be applied once the termite infestation has manifested.

Methods to Control the Termite Infestation
Some common type of control method will include pesticides. Construction practice and physical barrier can also help you manage your problem. Insecticides are undoubtedly the primary solution; other control method will only be used as supplemental solution.

Liquid Termiticide
This is the most common type of control method. These are specifically intended to solve the termite infestation. Before using, the product will first be diluted with water. This will then be applied directly on the soil around the foundation of our houses. This will create a safe zone that the termites will not be able to tunnel through. One quality of an excellent termiticide would be the length of protection that the product will provide. At the average, it will provide around 8-10 years of protection. Some of the active ingredients that can be found inside it include bifenthrin, cypermethrin, permethrin, imidacloprid, and fipronil.

Foam Termiticide
These are insecticides that will be diluted in water using a unique foaming solution. This will produce an end product that will appear like a shaving cream. This is mostly used as a supplemental treatment. It will be injected on the wall and will be spread all over the materials. This will be able to reach areas that the liquid termiticide will not reach. This can be used in controlling the infestation of the Formosan termite. Some of the active ingredient found in this control method includes imidacloprid and fipronil

Borate Treatment
This is a type of pre-construction treatment that is applied on the frames, sheathing, and sill plates. This treatment can only be applied during the ‘dried-in' phase of the construction or before the interior wall and the insulation have been installed. Borate treatment includes the ingredient disodium octaborate tetrahydrate. This type of treatment cannot be considered as a stand-alone solution. In fact, even the structures that have received this type of pretreatment will need to receive perimeter treatment.

Treated Wood
This treatment is more suitable to use on outdoor and out building construction. Different wood elements outdoors such as landscape timbers and posts that will have to be in contact with the ground will need to be treated by chemicals to prevent fungal growth and termite infestation.

These types of treatment aim to protect the wood materials before the infestation even start. This way, we can avoid the damages that can be caused by the termite before it even starts. Nonetheless, only the professionals should apply this treatment since it can be detrimental towards one's health.
